Reduce the volume of your tent, of your sleeping bag and of your clothes, by using compression bags. These bags allow you to keep your luggage neat. It’s simple to take a compression bag out of your luggage than going through your bag hoping to find the pair of socks down below.

There are different kinds of compression bags. For the tent and the sleeping bag, use the model held down by straps. Without the posts, insert your tent in the compression bag. Then, with the help of your knee, put your weight on the bag and pull the straps. Then, you will save about 40% of the space.
 

For your clothes, use a compression bag model that has a valve and straps. The valve will allow the air to enter or to get out if necessary. An advantage to this model is waterproof. So you can use it for your water activities. During your canoe or kayaking activities, bring in some are into the compression bag so that if you overturn it will float. Also, when you cover it up with a comfortable shirt, it can be used as a pillow.

The prices

These equipments are available in most outdoor/adventure boutiques. The compressible model with the straps is sold between 13 and 35 $CAD. But, the compressible model with the valve and the straps is more expensive. Expect to pay about 50 $CAD for a capacity of 25 L.
